Michael Brooks

Michael Brooks, also known as @_thefitbarista, started CrossFit 4 years ago and it has been his passion to coach and build confidence in the people he trains. He loves competing and seeing how high and far he can push his own limits (and “with the addition of coffee, anything is possible!”). He is excited to be at Arrow, the place where he started his own CrossFit journey, and he carries out his excitement to the members he works out with and coaches. His motto is “Let’s get fit!”

Mandy Hollingsworth

Mandy has spent her entire life playing sports such as: soccer, basketball, volleyball and competitive cheerleading. Once she graduated high school and her sports came to a halt, she started working out at 24Hr Fitness, but when things weren’t going how she planned, she decided to try CrossFit. She fell in love and has been a continuous member since May of 2011. After training with us for a few years and doing numerous competitions, she received her CrossFit Level 1 Certification in October of 2013 and has been coaching for us ever since. She graduated from the University of La Verne with a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology-Health and Human Performance, and an Associates Degree in Behavioral and Social Sciences and is striving to become a Registered Sports Dietitian. She had been on the university’s weightlifting team since February of 2014 and has lifted competitively since. She loves what she does and hopes to give everyone the best CrossFit experience!

Dena Cantone

Dena started exercising in July 2011 with running and going to a global gym. In that year, she did not see any physical change. She could not figure out what she was doing wrong, but just knew she needed something more, something different. Dena had heard about CrossFit through a friend and went to try it out. She remembered coming home after the foundations class thinking, “this isn’t for me, I’m too old for this.” However, she told herself that she would give it a few months and that went from two days a week, to three days a week, and now five days a week. Dena started seeing results and she was instantly hooked! She realized the strength and conditioning training she gained during her workouts made a huge impact on her overall fitness goals.

Fast forward two years later to October 2013…Dena was stronger, in better shape, competed in local CrossFit competitions and made the jump into the coaching realm.

Dena is now in her mid 40’s with 3 children and 2 grandchildren. She never has felt better and she loves that her body is able to do things she never thought was possible. Her only regret…”I didn’t start sooner.” She truly loves helping people and being a part of their journey to a better and healthier lifestyle. She hopes more people her age would come try it out & see the difference CrossFit makes. “It’s not just for young people…it is truly for everyone.”
